Blanche-

"Hypocrisy is not a way of getting back to the moral high ground. Pretending you're moral, saying your moral is not the same as acting morally."~ Alan Dershowitz. Although this is not a quote from the play I do believe that this is the perfect representation of Blanche. While living in Kowalski household Blanche pretends to be someone that she truly isn't. “I don't want realism. I want magic! Yes, yes, magic! I try to give that to people. I misrepresent things to them. I don't tell the truth, I tell what ought to be the truth. And if that's sinful, then let me be damned for it!” If I hadn't read this play I would've thought those were the words of a little kid. Blanche Dubois mind is clearly not in the right place.  Going around talking about the admirers she has, all of the clothes she has received from gentlemen, and acting like she is better then others is not the way to live. Especially if it's not true. Blanche came to Stanley and Stella as her last hope. For her to run out of options in life, including the fact that eventually her sister and Stanley kick her out must mean that Blanche is the true issue. Not everyone else.
